A partnership of the Texas Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO), and Xtreme Power Solutions of Kyle, Texas, will provide electric power to residents in colonias along the U.S.-Mexico border that are not currently served by electric utilities. TEES received $200,000 from The State Energy Conservation Office of Texas (SECO) to facilitate the project in which portable generation systems will provide electric power to residents at competitive rates. Xtreme Power’s advanced Hybrid Generation systems utilizing its proprietary Powercell will be capable of delivering 40 kilowatts of electric power to 10-20 dwellings. Integrating the Powercell with a high efficiency bio-diesel generator, solar panels and a wind turbine will make the overall system remarkably efficient for a remote power application. In addition, the reduced fuel requirements and exhaust emissions will have quantifiable environmental benefits. Read about the Grand Opening Here!
